When I found out that Anastasia Beverly Hills was collaborating with Mario Dedivanovic to create the Master Palette By Mario, I was super excited! If you aren’t aware, Mario is THE makeup artist for Kim Kardashian and a bunch of other celebrities. Think what you want of Kim Kardashian, but her makeup is probably the most requested and duplicated. Seriously, go on YouTube and see how many Kim Kardashian looks you’ll find. Mario has some serious skills when it comes to makeup (I really want to take his Master Class) and being that this was his first collaboration, I had super high hopes!
The Master Palette By Mario does not disappoint. The shadows are super soft and extremely pigmented. There was only one color that I had issues with, but that was only when I didn’t use a primer. The colors that he chose for this palette are the most perfect neutral, warm toned mattes and metallic finishes I have ever seen in a palette. Seriously, if I could create my most perfect palette, this would be super close to it. The ONLY issue that I have, is that I wish that there was a soft, matte shade included for areas like under the brow bone.
This was my first Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette so I didn’t know what I would think, but honestly their formula is quite impressive! The shadows are a breeze to blend and are extremely pigmented. The colors are super soft and there was quite a bit of fallout, but I expect that with shadows this pigmented and soft.
Master Palette By Mario Swatches
From Left to Right: Hollywood, Lula, NYC, Isabel
From Left to Right: Kim, Violeta Muse, 5th Ave
From Left to Right: Marina, Bronx, Claudia, Paris
The only shade I had a slight difficult time applying without a primer. This was Claudia. Left is with a Primer (I actually used MAC Painterly) and the swatch on the right is without a primer. It was mostly that I had a harder time blending the one without a base color applied first.
Included with this palette is a double-ended brush that is actually a very decent quality. Most of the time I’m not a fan of brushes that most brands provide, but this would work perfectly when needed. One end is flat and is perfect for packing on the shadow or applying to the lower lash line. The fluffy side is awesome for blending.
I haven’t been this in love with a palette in quite some time. Seriously, the colors are absolutely beautiful and yes, they do have a lot of fallout, but they’re so pigmented that I don’t mind. I can tell that the Master Palette By Mario is going to be a palette that will be on constant repeat because it features so many colors that I can get so much wear out of. From natural looks, to dramatic night time smokey eyes, whatever your needs are, this palette hits so many of them!

I love the warm colors!!! But I really hate fall-out. 🙁 Maybe that’s because I’m still an “amateur” with my makeup. ha ha Seriously though, those colors are beautiful!!
Christine C. says
My tip for that is to do your eyeshadow first, then just dust off the fall out if it gets under your eyes!

This palette looks like absolute perfection! I am such a sap for warm eyeshadows. I’m glad to hear it is as great as it looks. I love her eyeshadows, so I might eventually cave and get this palette. Great review. =)

You should totally get this palette! I love it!

I really love the look of this palette. They’re great shades for me. I always wear a primer so they’d be fine. I’m so tempted by this palette, but I’m trying to restrain myself coz I have very similar shades in other palettes. But I’d say this is one of the great fall palettes for 2016. Great review!

I have some similar shades in other palettes as well, but for me, this was a must-have and I’m so glad I made the purchase!

I completely understand, Christine. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I know I would coz it’s stunning! I bought 2 Viseart palettes plus some others that I haven’t even opened this year, so i’m on a no buy. Instead I had to buy a new central AC system, replace the rotting pilasters on the front of my house & next get a plumber to replace my leaking bathroom faucet. Oh I hate being practical ?

This is a GORGEOUS palette! I’ve had it in my cart to buy at Ulta so many times…but I keep stalling. It’s pretty pricey for typical ABH prices, and that hurts. Haha! I ended up purchasing the Kat Von D Metal Matte eyeshadow palette this past weekend, though, so I think I’m going to end up passing on this one. I already own so many neutral palettes, lol But awesome review! Your swatches were bomb!
Christine C. says
It’s very, very pretty! It was my first ABH palette, so Im glad that I snagged this one up!
