Having a lot of makeup and products can be horrible if you are a clean freak like me. Not only does it produce a lot of clutter, but most of the time you won’t know what products you have. Having things neat and organized is very easy and doesn’t take a lot of money. I’ve included pictures of what I have done to make sure my products are easy to see and organized.
My desk I use is the Malm Desk from Ikea. It was only $149.00 and it gives me a lot of room, but doesn’t take up a lot of room. It’s a very plain desk, but it’s great for any room. It has a drawer that pulls out and allows me to store a lot of my palettes, liners and other products inside. On top of my desk I have the little black tray that I keep brushes, liners, moisturizers and things like q tips. I would still have enough room inside my desk for some of these products, but I like having them out and easy to reach.
I keep this right beside my desk. I have a drawer for certain products. I have a drawer for foundations/concealers, blush and bronzers, eye, lipsticks and finally lip gloss and stains. I like that I have them categorized because I know where to look for each product. Since I tend to accumulate quite of bit of products, this makes it easy. On top of this is my Sigma Brush holder that I use when I clean my brushes. It’s a special roll that dries them quickly and helps then retain their shape. I also keep a small bag available to throw in a purse quickly. I always take a powder, lipstick and perfume with me. It’s always there on top and ready to use. The drawers are nothing fancy, they aren’t exactly pretty, but they do an excellent job keeping everything organized and easy for me to use. The black three tier thing is just something I picked up from Forever 21. It was on sale for $3.00. I use it to keep jewelry I use often or some other items that I haven’t put away yet, but don’t want just laying around.
Here is just a quick look into some of the drawers. They might look messy, but I know exactly what is in them and what colors I have. I have been toying with adding shelves above the desk and a mirror. I saw a great idea on Pinterest about using long mirrors turned sideways. Genius and cheap!
Probably not all of my lip glosses that I own, but these are the ones that I use most often. I just did a big makeup clean out and got rid of a lot of them. Always check your expiration dates! |
Organizing your makeup doesn’t have to be expensive. Even adding a few small plastic organizer bins to keep a lot of products in one container will help. Target always has great bins for storage and a lot of them were on sale at my store recently.
Do you have any good ideas? I’m always looking for more tips to be more organized.
