Today I’m sharing my Book Lover Gift Guide. As someone who reads a lot of books, I feel like I’m VERY qualified to give you some gift ideas for a fellow book lover. I’ve got a mixture of gift ideas for any budget, as well as some ideas on some DIY gifts.
BOOK LOVER GIFT IDEAS
BOOKMARK
You will never see me folding the pages to mark my spot in a book, ha. IYKYK. Instead, I love a bookmark. You can find so many bookmarks at most stores, online, or you could even DIY a cute one with beads!
DRAGON LIBRARY SIGN
If you are shopping for a reader who has a library that they are super proud of, a customized library sign would be such a thoughtful gift. There are some many options to choose from, but these caught my eye
- Dragon Personalized Library Sign. Readers who enjoyed books like Fourth Wing
- For the pastel loving girly, I love this customized library sign. In fact, I’m gifting one of these to someone this year!
- This LED library sign is so elegant and chic.
AN ART PRINT
I have been such a fan of adding a touch of literature to my gallery walls. Not just a picture of a book, but scenes from books that I love. I have this Chapter 55 Art Print in my office. One of my favorite small-business to purchase these from is The Literary Loft. She just released Magnolia Parks artwork this year and I have it on my wish-list! If you search Etsy, there are tons of digital prints you can purchase and frame yourself.
MUGS AND CUPS
Ask my husband about my mug and cup collection and he’ll probably roll his eyes at you, ha! I LIVE for a good cup. Give me all of the personalized and themed mugs. I LOVE this book lovers mug from Target. While researcing for this post, I saw this customizable floral book mug and honestly fell in love. You can find cute cups and mugs just about anywhere these days. Fill it with their favorite candy, a gift card, or maybe a book mark that you made. Such an easy and thoughtful gift!
CANDLES
Book themed scented candles? 100% yes. I spotted this one at Barnes and Noble and am obsessed.
MINI TOTE BAG
I’m all for the mini tote bag trend. It can hold a Kindle, a physical book, some markers for annotating and a snack. I love that they can be customized as well. Land’s End also makes one as well that has longer straps.
BOOKS
The gift ideas are endless when it comes to gifting books. Most of the time the person you’re shopping for will give you a list of books that they want. I, personally, love to gift books that are different if they haven’t given me a list of ideas. I love these two books, Men To Avoid in Art and Life /Friends To Keep in Art and Life to gift to my female friends. They’re perfect for those who love a good meme! I also love to gift the Guide To Style books for my friends (or acquaintances) that love fashion. A special-edition can be such a thoughtful gift, as long as you know they don’t have it!
KINDLE
I have been a fan of my Kindle since they day I got it. At first, I didn’t think I’d like an e-reader as I LOVE holding a physical book, but I was very wrong. I get so much more reading done since I’ve started reading on my Kindle. I can take it with me on-the-go. I can read at night easily. I can read by the pool with no issues. It’s been a game-changer.
I’ve had numerous Kindle devices, but I have to say, my Kindle Paperwhite is my absolute favorite so far. The battery is incredible. I barely have to charge it for over a month. It’s easy to use and now comes in different colors! I have mine paired with a case from Page (obsessed) OR my clear case with customized stickers.
The brand-new Kindle Colorsoft released and while it’s had some mixed reviews, I have a feeling it will be on quite a few wish lists. It’s the first Kindle to feature color and if you have someone who loves graphic novels, this will be right up their alley. Right now, there is a major delay in shipping. So keep that in mind. Right now I believe it’s a 3-5 week shipping estimation.
GIFT CARDS/SUBSCRIPTIONS
I think one of the easiest, but still thoughtful gifts for a book lover is a gift card or gift subscription. I normally gift a Book of the Month (or other subscription book program) or Libro.fm audiobook gift subscription.
- Bookshop.org Gift Card (Let them shop and you’ll be supporting a local bookstore)
- Owlcrate offers subscriptions and limited-edition boxes (Perfect for fantasy readers!)
- Afterlight and illumicrate are both very popular and offer exclusive special-edition boxes
- Aardvark Book Club is another popular option! You can gift monthly book credits for them to shop!
- The Bookish Box and Shop
