How is it possible that it’s already November? I mean don’t get me wrong, I am READY for November, but this year is going by so fast! Since October is over, it’s time for my October Beauty Favorites and a few Dislikes! I’ve got some really good ones and some really bad ones to share with you guys.
I posted about these two products last month and I’m STILL loving them! I know it’s kind of boring, but I really love these two products and have been using them daily. I just purchased my second bottle of the toner because it was empty, which rarely happens to me. Only because I’m always trying new products a lot. I use it to remove my makeup before I wash my face at night and as a quick cleanser on my skin in the morning. The Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads are almost empty as well. I use the quick 2-Step Peel every single day and my skin is so thanking me for it. No more crazy, oily skin for me. Instead, my complexion is brighter, less red and my pores are so much smaller. I had to mention them again this month so if you are needing Holiday Ideas for your wish list, then you need to include these two products!
2. Revlon COLORBURST Lacquer Balm and Revlon COLORBURST Matte Balm
I picked up these two Revlon lip products on a recent run to CVS. THANK YOU Revlon for creating two fabulous products. I am a sucker for a jumbo lip product. Sometimes they just seem easier to apply than a normal lipstick or gloss. I picked up the Lacquer Balm in the color #115 Whimsical and the Matte Balm in #205 Elusive. The Lacquer Balm is glossy and the Matte Balm is pretty self explanatory. They apply great and last a decent time. They can leave my lips a little bit dry, but nothing major. I can’t get over that these are under $10.00! I love both of these! These are new and not even on their website, but if you look around you will find them.
3. L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream (Fair)
I have used a couple of BB Creams that have impressed me. One of those products is very expensive and I haven’t purchased a replacement yet. I was at CVS and for some reason this product just kept getting my attention. I have heard about this product before and several beauty bloggers who have really loved this product, so I thought I’d give it a try. It was under $10.00 and a lot cheaper than the one I was going to buy which was over $30.00. Holy hell. This product makes my skin flawless. It covers any discoloration or redness, primes my skin perfectly for additional products (If I want to wear more makeup) and gives me a perfect luminous complexion. Fair is the perfect color for me right now, but if I were to use this in the summer, I’d have to go up to Light. I.LOVE.THIS.PRODUCT. A little bit goes a long way and will leave your skin looking magical. This was probably my favorite find for the month of October.
I posted about this palette that LORAC sent me and I’m still loving it and using it almost daily! If you didn’t get a chance to read my review, then click here and take a look! The eyeshadows are stunning and highly pigmented. The brushes are fabulous and the mascara is great! I think this is a fantastic value and would make a great gift for the Holiday’s!
Not everything I use works out. Here are a couple products that didn’t make my favorites list!
5. EverCreme Sulfate-Free Moisture System Cleansing Conditioner
I had high hopes for this product. It’s kinda-sorta comparable to WEN Cleansing Conditioner, kinda. It contains a 1/4 Cleanser and 3/4 Moisture. It’s not a product that will lather and foam up a lot, so it’s safer for hair. I have never wanted to shell out the cash for WEN, I’ve just always been on the fence about it. So I figured this would be a good introduction into the cleansing conditioner type products. I HATED IT! It was harder than hell to get out of the bottle. The packaging was horrible. I couldn’t get the pump to really pump anything out. It was suggested to use at least 8-10 pumps of product for my hair type. It felt nice in my hair and the smell was odd, but in a good way. The problem comes when I blow dry my hair. It feels dirty and oily, like it didn’t cleanse my hair or I have product leftover in my hair. I tried it at least four times before giving up. This product might not have been up my alley, but I did love the normal Shampoo and Conditioner from this line. It worked great! Does this mean I might have to actually try the WEN product line? I’m still on the fence about it.
6. Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara
This mascara claims to make lashes longer in 30 days, be clump free and give you lashes that defies limits. I didn’t like it at all. It did nothing for my sad, no length or volume, lashes. The brush was very small and was easy to apply the mascara, but I couldn’t get my lashes to really do anything. This product was a no go for me. I’ll keep searching for THE perfect mascara. *YSL Babydoll and Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill are topping my list so far.
There you have it. A few of my likes and dislikes for October. I’ve been trying quite a few new products and I think I’ve already got a couple products that are going to be on my favorites list! Stay tuned for a non-beauty related favorites post! I thought it would be fun and a good way for you guys to get to know a different side of “Simply Stine.”
