I love to always have my nails look their best and gel nails are the way to go in my opinion! They are the perfect choice because they offer a high shine look and you don’t have to worry about them chipping two days later. However, I have to take a break from them every now and then. My nails can get a little brittle and I don’t want to do anything to ruin my nails. My solution? Essie’s Gel Setter Top Coat. It’s magic in a bottle for your nails. Seriously!
It couldn’t be any easier to use. Apply your nail polish as usual and then apply two coats of the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat. Ta-Da! You have fierce, fabulous nails! I was really blown away by how much of a difference this made in my nails. So to test the Top Coat out, I applied it to only one hand and left the other hand without it. My result? My hand that HAD the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat was so shiny and my polish lasted way longer than the hand that didn’t have the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat. It works!
Here are pictures from my manicure AFTER about a week of wearing the polish. I totally forgot to take pictures before, but here is the proof that this top coat really worked for me. Also, it was incredible to see the amount of shine I got when wearing this top coat, compared to my normal go-to top coat.

For under $10.00, the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat gave my nails the feeling of having a true gel manicure, without the need of a light to set the nails and without the cost of going to my local nail salon. It helps save me money AND I can produce a quality manicure at home.
If you’re trying to find ways to cut some costs OR maybe you just like the challenge of doing your own nails and getting salon quality results-then I challenge you to give the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat a try! It’s the best $10.00 I’ve spent in a long time! PS THIS is not a sponsored post by Essie, I just genuinely really loved this product!

This sounds great! Now if I could only grow out my nails (and keep them that way) and if I could polish my own nails better. 🙁 Mine always look lousy! I may still have to try it though!! 🙂

Yeah, you should try it! It worked great for me and helped save me some money from going to get my nails done…..again, ha!

I’ve seen mixed reviews on this top coat, but I am intrigued enough to give it a try for myself! Your results are impressive!
Christine C. says
Yeah, I have too, but this worked great for me. I was shocked when I was applying it at the results that I got. Right away I noticed how shiny it was and my nails just looked so good!

I almost bought this in a duo at CVS back in August, but at the last minute, I decided not to spend more money than I already was, lol. The fact that they said it needed to be used with other essie polishes also put me off though I figured I probably could use it with anything. Definitely a huge difference between the essie gel topcoat and no topcoat (is that the comparison you showed?). Do you find it is better than the other topcoat brands you’ve tried? I’m really interested because I just bought Barielle No Chip Fast Dry Topcoat
Christine C. says
Yeah, as you could tell I didn’t use it with other Essie polishes, ha! I just went for what I had and it worked nicely in my opinion. The topcoat I normally use is either another Sally Hansen or a Butter top coat. They just seem to work nicely for me. The essie hand had the essie topcoat and the other polish had a Sally Hansen top coat on it. The essie top coat is a drastic difference!!
Allison @neversaydiebeauty says
Yes, I saw that you used a non-essie polish with it and got great results! But knowing what a difference using the essie gel topcoat made vs. the Sally Hansen topcoat is HUGE!

Wow, I’m impressed! I’m seriously in need of a top coat that works. I hate putting effort into a manicure, then having it chip two days later! I usually use Sally Hansen and it’s just not cutting it anymore. Thanks! I’ll have to get this for sure.

Ah… I have been waiting to read a review on this stuff. I wondered if it worked well so I’m gonna heck it out and see if it something I will like. I tend to like to wear my polish for about 2 weeks so I need a good top coat that will last. I have one from Sally’s that I love and it is so affordable and my polish will last a good 2 weeks with washing dishes 2x + a day so I need to check this out 😀

This looks great! I haven’t tried this top coat, but I’ve used another one from Essie that was really good. I’ll give this a shot.

Looking for a top coat! Great recommendation, thank you 🙂

Wow, what a difference! I also love gel nails, but I’m taking a break from all polishes and fake nails at the moment. Once I venture back in, I’ll have to scope this out!

I didn’t even know that a top setter now existed! I’ve been waiting for this moment for some time….thank you!

Wow! Any topcoat that keeps a polish going like that for a week is a huge winner IMO! I need this in my life asap!

I think I’m just really bad at putting on nail polish, but I’ve been wondering if this was any good. I’m definitely going to grab it!
