Nail fanatics get excited! L’Oreal has released a 3-step nail system, Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque 1-2-3 System, that gives us a high-gloss color that is very similar to a gel manicure, but without the harmful UV rays. I saw this at Target right after Christmas and I snapped it up as soon as I saw it. First of all, it was under $10.00 for the base and top coat (they come packaged together) and the polish was only $6.99 a bottle. I couldn’t wait to get home and try it out. I don’t know about you, but I love a cheaper, but just as effective alternative to my salon visits and to my at home gel manicure kit. The at home kits aren’t cheap, but they do save money. Could this save me even more money? Will it be just as good?
It’s a very simple process to apply the polishes. First apply the base coat and then apply 2 coats of the polish that you picked out. After that just apply the top coat and you’re all set! It dried very quickly and applied nicely. It’s a little bit thicker than most regular nail polish, but if you’ve worked with a gel polish before, you will be used to it’s consistency. I chase a dark navy blue color ( #701 Don’t Shy Away), but there are 24 polishes to choose from. That’s a great variety if you ask me. It was a very, very simple application process. It hasn’t dented or done anything funky since I’ve put it on. Now I’m not sure about the wear time on this polish just yet, but I will be reporting back with that information and possibly another color choice very soon. I’d love it if it at least lasted a week. I could be happy with those results. So we’ll see. Here are some pictures of the very fast manicure I did, just so I could show you the pictures, so don’t pay attention to the horrible painting job. The sparkly nail is a Sephora Formula X Polish that I was already wearing on that nail.

I’m going to keep wearing this and share my results with you guys in a week, unless I see that it is starting to chip or come off way before that. Keep your fingers crossed! So far so good. Hi Stine. I’m a product junkie and love all things related to nails and hair so I was super excited when I saw this gel polish system in Target! I was drawn to the Navy color but opted instead for the teal Fashion’s Finest. Unfortunately, I am not impressed with the results … Polish scraped and chipped just as much as regular polish. In fact, I am taking the rest of it off after only 24 hours of applying. I think it was a great attempt by L’oreal but misses the mark a bit.
That’s so odd because I’ve had mine on for a total of almost four days so far and nothing has come off at all! I mean no chipping or anything, plus, it’s still very shiny! I’ll have to see what happens in the next couple of days, but so far, I’m still impressed! Sorry your experience wasn’t great.

I just filmed an updated video! It’s been 6 days so far and it’s not horrible! My ends have chipped off a little bit, but it was a lot better than expected! I’ll have the updated post soon!
I bought the system with 713 Bold Bordeaux (it’s on my nails right now) and I love it. So shiny and plush :). I definitely want more of these. Longevity has no influence for me, because I change my polish very often. Next I’m picking up Elegance Is Innate :).
I picked up 702 Miss Luster-ess and I’ve got my eye on several others. It really has exceeded my expectations so far! Glad you are enjoying it also!

I have tried this twice in two different shades and both times the polish was chipped off of my finger tips by the next morning.
Yeah, I have heard some people say that they had similar results. For me, it worked nicely, BUT, I still wouldn’t say this is an exact “Gel” dupe.
