I am so excited to be talking books again! I’ve done a Simply Stine Book Club for a while now, but took a bit of a break from it last year. Today I’m sharing my March 2021 Book Club picks. After a lot of consideration and a lot of browsing online reviews, I think I’ve picked two excellent choices for you to consider reading along with me.
Simply Stine Book Club
For those of you new around here, welcome! I’m a big fan of reading and have been pretty much my whole life. For the Simply Stine Book Club, I pick two books each month that will hopefully inspire you to pick up a book (or listen to the audiobook) and do some reading. I try to pick two completely different books, so I’m hoping at least one will be something that you’re interested in.
I research A LOT of books for the book club. I browse #Bookstagram and now even #bookTok before deciding on books. I’m an oddball and actually don’t read the books I choose before I select them. The books I choose could be horrible, but we’re in this together. So far that has just been the way I’ve done things and I like it! Could I choose a book I’ve read before? Yep, I just haven’t done that yet. I kinda like reading along with everyone else and not having an opinion before we discuss anything.
Buy Yourself the F*Cking Lilies: And Other Rituals To Fix Your Life, by Someone Who’s Been There by Tara Schuster
I read an online review for this book and it just stuck with me. First of all, that title is incredible. Second of all, I want a book that helps me learn how to love myself more, in a non-cheesy way of course. There was something about this book and I kept considering it over and over, so I went with it!
Self-Help books can be great or they can be a total piece of garbage. I’m hoping that this book will be comical, but also insightful. We’ll have to see! Want to read this with me? Click here to purchase Buy Yourself The F*CKING Lilies. (That’s an affiliate link by the way)
This is the book Tara wished someone had given her and it is the book many of us desperately need: a candid, hysterical, addictively readable, practical guide to growing up (no matter where you are in life) and learning to love yourself in a non-throw-up-in-your-mouth-it’s-so-cheesy way.

The Echo Wife By Sarah Gailey
Anyone up for a domestic thriller? I’ve read that if you’re fans of Big Little Lies, Westworld, and Killing Eve, then this book is right up your alley. One review said this was a creepy work of science fiction, so I have no idea what to expect. I’ve never read anything by Sarah Gailey, but I’m excited to dive right in! Want to read this with me? Martine is a genetically cloned replica made from Evelyn Caldwell’s award-winning research. She’s patient and gentle and obedient. She’s everything Evelyn swore she’d never be. And she’s having an affair with Evelyn’s husband.

I hope you’ll join me and read with me this month! I’m so happy to have the Simply Stine Book Club back in action! I’ll be doing a review of both of these books (and others that I might have read this month) at the beginning of next month. Have you read anything good lately? Comment below!
