I’ve seen quite a few people online that I follow, talk about their experience with Swan Beauty. I also follow one of the co-founders, Lindsey, who is a very talented makeup artist. Side note, her home in Charlotte is BEAUTIFUL. I dare you to not fall in love. So I was finally curious enough to give the company a try for myself. I have been in need of some new foundation (after this one didn’t quite work out) and concealer, and thought why not see what they’d recommend for me.
Swan Beauty is what I would consider a beauty concierge service. From the comfort of your own home (or wherever you fill out your questionnaire) you will answer some questions, upload a photo (makeup-free) and let them know what products you are looking for. Is there something specific you need help with? You can request all of this on the form you fill out. A beauty expert then reviews the forms you filled out and will choose products based on your own personal needs and mails them to you.
Do I need help choosing beauty products? Not really, but I’m always curious what someone else would pick out for me. What colors would they choose? What foundation formulas? What concealer shades? So I paid $20.00 ($10 for each) and filled out a questionnaire, uploaded a picture, and waited for my package to arrive.
First of all, the package arrived super fast. I was VERY impressed with that alone. In my box there were two pouches filled with five samples and a sponge. Each sample was labeled with the brand and the shade. With my purchase came a $10.00 code towards a foundation and a $10.00 code for a concealer. So the $20.00 I spent goes right towards a purchase if I decide to make one. Again, so simple!
My Foundation Samples
- Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (LOVE this one)
- Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation (The hype about this foundation is real. I can see why!)
- Vapour Beauty Velvet Foundation (Sadly, this one didn’t work out for me)
- Givenchy Skin Caring Matte Foundation (This is stunning on my skin)
- Kevyn Aucoin Skin Illuminating Foundation (Gorgeous foundation)
There has only been one foundation so far that I didn’t love, BUT all foundations matched my complexion perfectly. The shade matching blew me away honestly. I’d probably never have tried the Givenchy before trying this and I’m so glad I did because it’s gorgeous on my skin.
I’m torn on which one to try because I enjoy quite a few of them. I’m using up the samples and narrowing it down.
My Concealer Samples
- Armani Luminous Concealer (I have this and apparently I use the correct shade based on what they sent)
- Koh Gen Do Moisture Fit Concealer (This is incredible for dry under eyes)
- Jouer High Coverage Liquid Concealer (Haven’t tried this one yet)
- Armani Powder Fabric Concealer (A big fan of this one for sure)
- Chantecaille Real Skin Face and Eye Stick (This one was possibly a tad bit too warm for my under eye area, but I can see it working if I self-tan)
Again, VERY impressed with the products that were sent to me. So far, I’m really enjoying the Koh Gen Do and the Armani Powder Fabric Concealers the most. I need to try the Jouer before I make any final decisions though. I might choose two as sometimes I want a lighter concealer and other times I’d like a bit more coverage.
My Thoughts on Swan Beauty
I’m so impressed with this service. Even as someone who feels I am very aware of brands and products, it’s nice to see what someone else will choose for me based off of my questions I answered and my photo. The samples they sent were decently filled up and I can get two or more wears out of most of the products. A perfect amount of uses to see if I really like a product or not.
Considering I’m getting a $20 credit to use towards both products, I see nothing wrong with paying the fee up front for the foundation and concealer color matching service. So whether you need a few skincare and/or makeup products (or a full routine) or maybe you just need help color matching, this is a phenomenal service to utilize. The brands that Swan Beauty offers are incredible and I’m extremely impressed with the whole service so far.
*For all non color matching services, it looks like the fee is $25.00 and you will receive full-sized products based on your needs, samples to try first before opening the full-sized products, a detailed face-chart, and a customized note from your beauty expert. If there are items you’d like to keep, the $25.00 fee goes towards your purchase. What you don’t like I’m assuming you just return!

I copied you and did the concealer one and I loved it! I had been having trouble color matching lately and I felt like these samples were all perfect. The majority were products I never would have tried otherwise. I’ve used 3 so far and liked 2 of them! As I primarily use concealer on my under eyes the samples have lasted me a good amount of time!
