Welcome to the sixth post in my newest series, My Five Favorite Beauty Products. You guys are blowing me away with your comments and support from these posts. It’s great to see what other people love as far as beauty products, right?!?! If you’re new around here, let me explain what this series is all about.
I’VE ASKED SOME FELLOW LADIES IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY AS WELL AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SHARE THEIR 5 FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS. SOME PEOPLE ARE “BEAUTY OBSESSED” WHILE SOME ARE JUST TRYING TO GET BY WHEN IT COMES TO BEAUTY. I’VE GOT A REALLY DIVERSE GROUP OF WOMEN (OF ALL AGES) WHO ARE PARTICIPATING AND I’M SO EXCITED TO SHARE THEIR RESPONSES WITH YOU GUYS! WE’LL BE TALKING ALL ABOUT HIGH-END AND DRUGSTORE MAKEUP, HAIR PRODUCTS, SKINCARE AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. IT WILL BE EVERYTHING BEAUTY!

Meet My Mom
Today’s Five Favorite Beauty Products post is a special one to me because it’s from my mom! My goal with this series is to not ONLY showcase women who are a part of the beauty industry, but other women (and men, hopefully) who aren’t quite as “beauty obsessed” some of us in the industry are.
When I think about why mom and beauty, I realize that:
A) I’m very lucky in the genes department because if I can look even half as good as my mom when I’m older, I will be super lucky! She has GREAT skin.
B) Some of my earliest memories of “beauty” happen to be with my mom and us trying Avon when I was younger. She’d order it from work and I remember trying products every now and then. I was a clueless teenager who had no idea what the hell she was doing when it came to skincare or makeup, but that was the start of it!
My mom would probably say she isn’t that knowledgeable about beauty, but I would actually disagree. She has a pretty solid routine down and she understands more than the basics when it comes to beauty. She knows it’s important to have a good skincare routine in place (AM/PM) and she knows that a makeup routine doesn’t have to be a lot of products; you just need to have good products that work for you and your skin.
Are you a business owner or someone in the beauty industry?
No business owner or beauty expert. Just a wife, mom, grandma & hard working administrative assistant. ?
How “into” beauty are you?
Total beginner just trying to get by
What is your first favorite product and why did you choose it?
The Original Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox. I tend to have dry skin even using moisturizing products. This gives my face a smooth base layer for my foundation and other makeup products.
What is your second favorite product and why did you choose it?
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks. I have been using this for years. I have 3 different colors, but my favorite is Powder Pink. It’s a very natural shade for me. Also like that it can be used on my cheeks & lips.
What is your third favorite product and why did you choose it?
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. It is easy to apply, long lasting & many great colors to choose from. My current “favorite” shade is Desperation (a brown/grey color).
What is your fourth favorite product and why did you choose it?
Pale Barley eye color by Burberry. This was a gift from my daughter and I love neutral shades! It’s perfect for me!!
What is your fifth favorite product and why did you choose it?
Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I love the coverage I get from this. It lasts all day until I take it off.
