Glossybox is another monthly sample subscription service. It’s based in the UK and has just recently made its way into the US. Price wise compared to the other subscription services out there, it’s a little bit more. It’s $21.00 a month, but the sample sizes you are getting will be deluxe if not full size for some of the items.
The box is big. It’s a lot bigger than my Birchbox (click here). The actual packaging of the box is really nice. It comes in a beautiful box, that you could easily re use for something. There is a Glossybox Gift Guide Magazine and a card with information from the current box. The best part is what I got inside my box:
Epionce Restorative Hand Cream
I got the full size of this product and it’s pretty good. It says that its high in antioxidants and omega fatty acids so it will help protect your skin and improve the skin barrier and it features organic raspberry seed oil. I got a full size tube of this and the cost would be $19.00. That right there basically pays for my box cost.
ILLAMASQUA LTD
I got super excited when I saw ILLAMASQUA was going to be featured in the box, so imagine my dissapointment when I open the package and see its a bright orange eye/lip liner. NOOOO!! I doubt you will ever see me using this pencil. I might be daring with my eyeliner and lips, but this is a little bit too daring for me. It was a full size product and the cost of this was $20.00!!! ILLAMASQUA makeup products are amazing!
NUME STYLE Arganics by NuMe Argan Oil
This Argan Oil can be used on the hair or the skin. It’s high in Vitamin E and other essential fatty acids. This is non-greasy and only has the slightest scent (barely noticeable). This is the thickest Argan Oil I have ever used. It’s very nice though and its a very generous sample size. The full size of this product would cost $59.00!
PERFUMIES Solid Perfume Stick
I love this idea! It’s just a small little tube that can easily fit into a purse or travel bag, with no need to worry about your perfume spilling or leaking. It’s a solid perfume stick that have an all natural base and are paraben-free and have no preservatives. I’m not sure what the scent is (I don’t see a name??) but its a very pleasant, light fragrance. It’s a full size product, again and only costs $7.00. I’d really consider purchasing this product as I think it’s a genius idea!
SKIN&CO ROMA Truffle Serum:Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum
This is an Italian serum infused with Pepties, pure extracts of Tuber Melanosproum (Black Truffle) and Hyaluronic Acid that says with daily use, will give you brighter, more even toned skin. I have only used this a couple of times and it’s a nice serum. It’s very lightly scented and isn’t too heavy on my skin. The full size of this product would be $36.00. I didn’t get a full size of this product, but the size they provided was very nice!
NuMe $100 Gift Certificate
$100?!?!? Yeah, you read that right. $100 towards the purchase of their professional styling tools or hair extensions. I have never used any of their products, but I plan on it with this certificate. Most of the items I saw were around $150.00. This is an EXTREMELY generous gift certificate.
Final thoughts on the box:
Glossybox offers a lot for $21.00. While I didn’t love each and every sample I was given, do you ever? it’s a sample box and it’s made for you to try new things and get exposure to brands you might not have otherwise tried. I can’t get over the fact that I got 3 full size products and also a $100 gift certificate! The other samples I got were still deluxe sizes. Great products for the money I spent.
Shipping seemed to take a long time! I heard that this month they had some issues, it seems everyone did. I’ll see how that goes next month. I did get my package and it wasn’t damaged or anything, so that’s a plus! I did try to contact their customer service, but never heard back from them. That’s a BIG negative to me.
The packaging is amazing and the box is super nice! It’s the best I’ve gotten out of the beauty subscription services I have. I feel like this would make a super nice gift for someone who is interested in trying out new beauty and makeup products.
I was really impressed with my first box, even though I didn’t love each product I got, I am sure I know someone who will! Tis’ the Season to pay it forward! So some of the items I didn’t love, I will just give to others! I’m excited to see what my next box will be! I’ll keep you posted! Um, orange liner? ha That wouldn’t be for me either. Sounds like the sizes of samples and other products are well worth the price of the subscription. Many of the items I have never heard of, but that’s an easy way to try new products!

I’m still on the fence about glossybox, but I will admit since getting my box I have worn my perfume almost daily. I’m not a big perfume wearer so that says a lot. I like the solid stick form. It lasts all day for me! My orange liner is in my trade box. 🙂 my truffle serum already found a new home in exchange for an eyeliner. I’m just ready for the December box. 🙂
