I posted before about my love affair with Birchbox (Click here to read that review) so this month when my October box came, I wanted to share with you guys what I got! This was a special month at Birchbox. They partnered with GOOP to create a collection of must-try essentials. What is GOOP? GOOP was started by Gwyneth Paltrow in 2008 as a digital media and e-commerce site. You can sign up to get their weekly newsletters delivered to your inbox (www.goop.com). It varies from recipes, fashion, beauty and health related topics. Since I love GOOP, I was hoping I would really love my Birchbox that much more! Here’s what I got :
Here is how it comes packaged |

LUNA Fiber Bar in Chocolate Raspberry
Ever try a LUNA Bar? They are fabulous and actually taste good, really! They are a great snack bar to keep handy to cure any sweet cravings you are having. At under 200 calories each, these bars are packed full of nutrients. This bar was really good. I’m not a lover of all fiber bars. Some of them just taste like cardboard if you ask me, but LUNA Bars get it right each time.
ESSIE Nail Polish in Power Clutch
This was a great nail polish color! It’s a very dark grey. This is a color I will wear a lot!
Naked Princess Lip Gloss in Barely Coral
Favorite product from my Birchbox this month! I just did a review on this Lip Gloss (Read it here) and I can’t stop telling my friends how much I love this product. It is the best, non-stickly lip gloss with the perfect amount of barely there color. It’s amazing. It is actually a lip plumper, but it’s not going to sting your lips like crazy. It has a very sweet smell thanks to the addition of Moroccan Vanilla and Sweet Almond Oil. With Shea Butter on hand, it makes my lips constantly want more. Best moisturizing lip gloss I have ever used. So, bravo to this company! Excellent Product!
Joanna Varga Daily Serum
I have heard of Joanna Varga, but have never tried her products. She is a celebrity NYC facialist with a very famous skincare studio in Manhattan. This serum packs quite the punch! With Vitamins A, E and C, plus Hyaluronic Acid, this serum will brighten the skin and make it glow! This serum sinks into the skin very quickly and gave me an almost matte finish, but my skin looked like it was glowing. So this doesn’t feel dewy or “wet” on the skin like some serums do. I have only used this a couple of times, but so far I really like it. I would definitely consider buying this product again in the future.
Kiehl’s Aromatic Blend:Orange Flower and Lychee Liquid Body Cleanser
I love Kiehl’s products. I own several of them. This was the first body cleanser that I have used from their line. It’s a sulfate-free cleanser that lathers beautifully. The scent is very sweet to me. I’m all about fruity floral scents, but this was just too strong for me. I’d repurchase this product for sure, just in a different scent. It was a great size though for traveling!
So that was my box for this month! I always look at cost of products compared to what I spent on the box ($10) and this month if I were to have gotten the full size products it would have cost me $157.95. WOW! That’s why I love getting Birchbox. The Serum featured in this box was a normal price of $85.00 itself. The sample they provided is more than generous and will allow me to use this product for quite a while. Same goes for the Kieh’s body wash. It’s more than enough for me to use for over a week to see if I like it. The Essie nail polish included in my Birchbox basically paid for the box itself as these normally sell for $8.00. So I got my money’s worth this month!
Overall thoughts on this box. This wasn’t my favorite box I have ever received from Birchbox, but it wasn’t horrible. My friend got one that was just so so. It’s still a good way for me to try new products and it paid off this month because I found a great new lip gloss that I will be repurchasing! Go check out Birchbox yourself! For only $10.00 a month, it’s a great find!

Since I have never gotten one of these boxes, I thought it looked good. I have never tried most of these products, so maybe one day I will get a Birchbox and be able to try some of these neat products!!

If you are on the waiting list to join Birchbox, I just got an email that they are going to be a little behind because their offices are in NYC. Just wanted to let you know the wait might be a little bit longer than usual.
