I am always being told about skincare brands to try out from other people and believe me, there are plenty of product lines I haven’t tried. One product line that was bragged about recently was Paula’s Choice. I had heard of the product line before, but I just never got around to trying it out. Well, thanks to Paula’s Choice, who so generously sent me some products to try, I can now finally tell you why these products are probably some of the best I have ever used!
I was sent five products to try. I have used them for almost a week now. While that isn’t normally enough time for me to see a lot of visible results, I can tell you that I haven’t experienced a single issue with dryness or redness and for me that is HUGE! My pores are already smaller, my skin is smoother and I have noticed my redness is getting a lot better. All of this from just under a week of using this product line! I normally use a product line for about a month before doing a review so I can see results, but this product line is exceptional and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!
I am using the cleanser and toner from the Earth Sourced collection. The cleanser is great for removing makeup and impurities and has a nice lather to it. I am still able to use my Clarisonic brush with this product and have no issues. I use this morning and night and have experienced no drying of my skin. The toner is unlike any toner I have ever used before. Most toners are a liquid, but this is more of a gel. It still applies to the skin and sinks in instantly, so no worries of it being too heavy on the skin. This toner is alcohol free and will replenish, restore and repair the skin. With normal toners, I felt that they made my skin tight and were drying, but this toner really does make my skin feel hydrated. With the Earth Sourced collection from Paula’s Choice, you can be assured that they are using at least 98% natural ingredients and are ok for all skin types.
I was also given a few products from the RESIST line. Here is probably where I fell in the love the most with Paula’s Choice products. I used the RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator and found that this is an exceptional moisturizer. Not only does it hydrate my skin, it actually leaves it matte enough to be used with makeup. This hydrator features anti wrinkle, skin-clearing ingredients that will restore your skin and help even your complexion. I love that this can be applied all over the face and is safe enough to be used as your eye cream! When applied you might be a little confused with the consistency of this product because it’s not like most moisturizers. This didn’t feel like a typical moisturizer to me and at first I was worried that two pumps wasn’t enough to spread over my whole face, but it really is! That’s the beauty of this product. This moisturizer is safe for all skin types, but I have to speak up and say that it worked exceptionally well with my oily skin!
I was also given the RESIST Pure Radiance Skin Brightening Treatment. This leaves my skin silky soft, and has really brightened up my complexion. If you suffer from discolorations from acne or an uneven skin tone, this product contains vitamin and plant based ingredients that will help fade those spots and also help refine your skin tone, which will bring back that youthful glow to the skin. This doesn’t leave my skin oily and is perfect for any skin tone.

The last product I was given is also part of the RESIST line. This little bottle does so many things and it really makes a difference in my skin. From unclogging and minimizing pores, soften dry patches, balance oily skin, reducing breakouts and fading marks left from breakouts, soothing wrinkles and minimizing Sebaceous Hyperplasia. If you ask me, that’s a lot for one product to take care of! This will be applied only in the evening as the last step in your skincare routine. It can be used as a spot treatment over areas of concern, but it can be applied to the whole face if needed. This is a controlled, sustained release of Salicylic Acid and the beauty of this is it won’t dry out the skin or cause any irritation to the skin. I have mostly used this product to help with my pore size and to spot treat any small breakouts. It has worked beautifully. This is a very sticky product when applied to the face, but it really does sink into the skin nicely. It’s safe for all skin types and a little bit of this product goes a really, long way!
I’m excited to see with continued use, how much this product line is going to change my skin. These products work and she has published studies showing proof of all of these products being put to test. I didn’t find a single product that was over $40.00 and even finding one close to $40.00 was very difficult. In my experience, skin care lines that contain so many great ingredients are normally the most expensive, but her line has really proved to me that there is an effective, advanced skincare line out there that is at a great price point for everyone. I have truly been blown away by my own personal results and really do want to encourage anyone who hasn’t found that one product line that works for them to give this one a try! Their customer service has been great and their website is full of information. If you are the type of person that likes to try samples before purchasing a full sized product, her website allows you to purchase small samples of all of her products before purchasing!

I am so happy that you finally tried these products. I stumbled across these products in 2009 and am glad I started reusing them. The 2% liquid BHA is the only thing that keeps my skin clear. I now love the Resist 9 and am excited for the rest of the line that will be here this week. Worth every penny and you WILL see results sooner than you expect. 🙂
I have never heard of these products or the brand itself but upon reading your reviews about it, I wanna try it out.
I am 63 and I have tried a very large number of skin care products over the years at all price points. I started using Paula’s Choice in 2008 or early 2009 and I don’t even bother with anything else anymore. There are a couple of products in her line that I have liked less well than others, but let me tell you and all of your readers, her customer service is beyond almost any other I have ever found and she does live up to her guarantee. If you don’t like something, you have 60 days to return it and then they offer suggestions about what might work better for you. And whatever they suggest almost always does end up working better. Not only that, but you will receive your products in a jiffy. The other day I ran out of the Resist antioxidant serum. I thought I had another bottle stored, but I didn’t. So I ordered. The next day I thought, “Well, maybe I should just pick up some Olay Regenerist that her Beautypedia speaks well of…just to tide me over until my serum arrives.” I didn’t do it, and then that night decided I would go back and pick it up the next day, but lo and behold, what arrived that day but my PC order! It isn’t always THAT fast, but I don’t recall a time when it took more than 4 days to get an order, and that was when there was a Sunday thrown in. And speaking of beautypedia.com, everyone MUST try it. It is awesome. Both her PC website and the beautypedia.com website are packed with information, videos, reviews, etc. I have spent hours learning things no one ever told me before about skin care. So, congratulations on finding Paula’s Choice! It sounds like you are kind of obligated to try other products, but I seriously doubt you will ever find this much quality at this price point ever. I think if I were you I might retire from the beauty product reviewing biz and review something else…and go merrily into the sunset with beautiful skin, thanks to Paula’s Choice.

Another convert! 🙂 I found Paula about four years ago. Like you, I have oily skin and I found her line is the only one that cleanses properly while still allowing me to moisturize. I go makeup free some days since I have been using Paula’s Choice, something that I have note been able to do since being a teen. Prices are awesome and I find her products to be more effective than the $100-$200 brands (and I have tried them all over the years!). Thank you for profiling this company -every woman should discover them! Or at the very least, discover the tremendous amount of information Paula and her team shares with consumers. The podcasts they do are highly entertaining and informative. I just love the whole company! 🙂

I have done everything from Proactive to Clarins to LaMer (and many more). I have never been able to balance getting my skin clear of breakouts and clogged/enlarged pores but also moisturizing it properly and getting an even skin tone. I was also an astringent hog as that is what I had been taught to use for oily prone skin -Paula was the first one who educated me on what ingredients to look for and what to avoid. And oily skin people -no alcohol based products in your skin regime EVER! That is the game changer philosophy. Great blog by the way! 🙂

Great post! I’m a huge Paula’s Choice fan too. I love that everything she uses, including the packaging, is backed up by published clinical research. She doesn’t rely on buzzwords or duping customers, and everything is fragrance-free and irritant-free. Her customer service rocks, too!
