Tax Time w/ Coupons.com
It’s that time again. Tax Day is coming up FAST! Most of us are either finishing up our taxes or you’ve already gotten back your tax return. Coupons.com asked me and a group of bloggers to come up with ideas on how we would spend our tax refunds and they were generous enough to offer a $100 Amazon E-Gift Card to giveaway. If you are still in the process of finishing up your taxes, make sure you check out some of Coupons.com Tax Season Deals!
What if….
I could list the obvious things you should do with your tax refund, but what fun would that be?!? So let’s pretend that we all live in a perfect world where there is no such thing as debt, bills or a need for savings. My post is going to be all about how to spend your tax refund on beauty products. Sounds much better than me telling you to pay your bills, start a savings account and be smart with your money, right? Agreed. I recently read an article on CNN that stated that the average tax refund for most Americans in 2014 is $3,034.00. I mean, it would be a really awesome day if I got a chance to blow spend that amount of money on beauty products. Maybe best day ever? So let’s create this “dream” list of items I’d pick up. I’m going to show you some fabulous items that you can splurge on. Be still my wallet and prepare yourself. My list is quite lengthy.
Perfumes
Replica line from Maison Martin Margiela
This bottle gets me every single time. So clean and simple, but so elegant! I want to own each of their fragrances strictly based on the bottles. Actually, they smell amazing! This Flower Market Fragrance is on my *wish list* for sure!
I have a thing for rose fragrances, but they can be tricky. Sometimes they just don’t smell like actual roses, but instead more like cheap old perfume that is way too overwhelming. I’ve heard a lot of good reviews on this line of fragrances, but sadly I haven’t been able to pick it up yet. There’s just something so feminine about a rose fragrance in my opinion.
I had to put a total luxury/splurge item on my list for perfumes and Bond No. 9 had to be on it! They are crazy expensive, but oh so popular. The bottle alone is a classic and what a beauty!!!
Lippies
Marc Jacobs Beauty Lovemarc Matte Lip Gel in #140 Gossip
Quite possibly the most beautiful bright fuscia color ever?! Marc Jacobs Beauty is a very high-end product line. This lipstick looks sleek and I really feel it needs to be in my makeup bag asap! I love Marc’s packaging. That black and white with silver detailing is gorgeous!
Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact
Here’s a description of this beautiful lipstick from Guerlain. My heart beats a little faster when I see this lipstick and gorgeous compact!
What it is:
A shimmering, ruby-powder lipstick tucked inside a chic, Parisian case.
What it does:
Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact contains a ruby-powder formula that interacts with the light and creates a jaw-dropping pout of perfection. At first glaze, lips will be left defined, smoothed, plumped, and hydrated.
What else you need to know:
Tucked in a compact that marries beauty with high design, with one click, you will have a luminous lipstick and mirror at your fingertips. Designed by Lorenz Bäumer, the most talented jeweler from the Place Vendôme in Paris, it is the ultimate accessory of mystery and seduction.
Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick:Muse
I’d say that this is not the most crazy priced item I chose on my list, BUT I could buy every single color that this line carries in their Velvet Creme Lipstick Collection. So that itself makes it a very splurge worthy addition to the list. At $30.00 a piece and with all of them that I want, we’re talking a hefty amount of $$. Gorgeous though, right? I’m loving the bright reds and corals again for Spring and Summer.
Eyes
Tom Ford Lavender Lust Eye Color Quad
I have two words that make this a total splurge worthy purchase. TOM. FORD. Enough said.
Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow:Petal Shine
The Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palettes are some of the most gorgeous put together eyeshadows. I could purchase every single one of them. This Petal Shine is the perfect addition to your makeup collection for Spring and Summer. The rest of them are just as beautiful as this one.
Chantecaille Save the Bees Palette
Chantecaille is one of those brands that just does a lot of good, so I had to include them on my splurge worthy list. Isn’t this palette incredible?? It’s a gorgeous eye and cheek palette and with every one sold, they donate 5% to Xerces Society to help save the bees and our environment!
Skincare
I don’t even need to explain why this product is on this list. It’s luxury in a jar. Amazing for dehydrated skin. It’s up there in price, but worth it if you are wanting a fabulous moisturizer to really hydrate the skin.
BY TERRY Cellularose Brightening Serum
I’ve wanted to try this product for quite some time. It’s not horrible in price, but still not at a price point that has me running to pick it up today. I’ve heard many good things about this line of products and this is one product I hope to try! Here’s a little bit more information:
A concentrate of innovation, this multi-unifying, antiaging and correcting serum allows skin to emerge from shadow to light. The high performance WT skin technology combines brightening Roses native cells and anti-dark spots Bellis Perennis extract with skin peeling flower acids that stimulate cell renewal, to clarify, make all skin types uniform* and reveal a perfect translucent complexion.
Cle de Peau Beaute Intensive Eye Contour Cream
You can’t have a luxury must have list without including at least one Cle de Peau product. I fought between adding the concealer (HOLY GRAIL), but this Eye Contour Cream won. First of all, is it not the most beautiful packaging ever? It’s screaming to sit out on my vanity. Secondly, if I’m going to splurge on a good eye product, I want it to be a “take care of it all” type product. Here’s some more information on this product:
An exceptional, luxurious high-performance eye contour cream that targets all signs of aging such as wrinkles, sagging, dark circles, dullness and puffiness. Reawakens a brighter, younger, more visibly refreshed look. The specially designed platinum-plated applicator delivers a cooling sensation while helping to stimulate skin’s natural microcirculation for enhancing the benefits.
Random Luxury Items
Diptyque is high-end all the way, but worth every penny. Ever purchase a candle that just doesn’t really fill up the area with the scent or it smells fake and like chemicals? These candles are the real deal and they are amazing. I’d purchase every single item this company makes if my budget would allow it. So if I could splurge with my tax refund, I’d for sure hit up Sak’s and buy as many of these candles as I could. Call me a candle hoarder! That’s fine. They are lovely.
This flat iron is 50% more powerful and offers a wider plate to get you the sleekest, straightest hair possible. T3 is a line that is very expensive, but their products are fantastic at protecting your hair and getting the job done right.
A classic. Designed over 100 years ago and still one of the best selling brushes around. Here’s a little bit of information on this brush:
Developed and patented more than 100 years ago, Mason Pearson’s hair brush is the ultimate grooming tool. Only the finest, premium-grade boar bristle, which is gentle to the hair and scalp, is used. Brushing with a Mason Pearson hair brush is the best way to distribute the natural oils while exfoliating the scalp and stimulating circulation of the hair follicles. The patented pneumatic cushion conforms to the contours of the scalp, which optimizes brushing with minimal effort. All Mason Pearson hair brushes are handmade in England. Animals are not harmed in the collection of the boar bristle. This pure boar bristle brush is specifically for brushing through fine to normal hair types
Now that is a splurge worthy list! I mean, that would be a dream day to go down that list and pick each of those items up. *Sigh* One can dream, right??? Anyways. I also want to share the details on how you can enter to win the $100 Amazon E-Gift Card! If I were to win, I’d buy up as many bottles of Bioderma as I possibly could! Just saying!!
